A blue-tongued lizard's mind blowing birth - ABC News

Have you ever seen a blue-tongued lizard give birth?!

The process that a female lizard endures to get the babies out looks like the hardest part of a human birth, the strain of which results in a slippery baby coming into the world; but unlike a human birth, when the scaly baby lizard finally arrives it turns around and eats its afterbirth.

On ABC Canberra's Facebook page Jennifer shared an incredible video of a blue-tongue lizard giving birth to TEN babies, each of which comes out alive and kicking.

Simon Ferguson from Territory Wildlife Park explains how the blue-tongued lizard (and other reptiles) seem to have live babies.
